FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is TRULEO?
TRULEO is an agentic AI platform trusted by over 1,100 agencies
TRULEO is an AI system that supports police departments through three types of AI assistant licenses; one for Patrol, one for Command Staff, and one for Investigators. Each group gets an assistant tailored to the work they do every day.
Patrol officers use the assistant to write reports, interview witnesses, understand policies and statutes, and receive quick intelligence briefings while staying focused on the job.
Command staff use it to see trends, understand risk, identify training needs, generate policies and accreditation materials, and gain clear visibility into what’s happening across the department without searching through multiple systems.
Investigators use it to scan evidence, build timelines, summarize documents, research people and vehicles, and uncover connections and leads across many sources.
Beyond the assistant, TRULEO also includes four powerful digital agents that function like an always-on digital workforce. Departments can assign tasks directly to these agents, each of which has dozens of advanced skills, including:
-
Conducting OSINT research
-
Writing or reviewing policy at a PhD level
-
Running undercover-style chats for online investigations
-
Creating budgets, staffing models, and operational plans
-
Monitoring live video feeds, radio traffic, and CAD data for risks or key events
These agents work 24/7, process large amounts of information instantly, and operate entirely within the United States under strict law-enforcement standards.
In simple terms, TRULEO gives patrol, command, and investigators a powerful AI assistant and a team of digital agents to help them work faster, stay safer, and make better decisions.
How if TRULEO different from ChatGPT?
TRULEO is more secure and built specifically for law enforcement. It complies with FBI CJIS and state-level standards, with workflows tailored for policing, and is hosted on AWS GovCloud. TRULEO automatically redacts personally identifiable information (PII) to ensure victims' data remains private & secure.
How is TRULEO different from other automated report writing tools?
Other tools attempt to convert body camera video directly into a report; an approach that evidence-based studies show is ineffective, unethical, and inaccurate. Worse, these tools are often built by overseas engineers.
With TRULEO’s report-writing software, the officer is always the author. Officers can create reports by speaking, typing notes, or uploading case information. Our AI assistant, TruAssist, steps in only to help, asking smart follow-up questions, tightening language, and strengthening the officer’s draft, without replacing it.
Unlike tools that take over the writing process and lock officers out of their own reports, TRULEO keeps officers in full control from input to final output all while being 100% made in the USA.
The result: reports that are clear, accurate, and authentically officer-written.
What problems does TRULEO solve for agencies?
TRULEO helps agencies accelerate paperwork, improve accuracy, and strengthen cases. The platform consolidates data across policies, RMS, CAD, BWC, cell phones, and jail calls doubling officer productivity and empowering leaders to make faster, data-driven operational decisions.
What is an Agent?
An agent is software that TRULEO installs on-premise, usually on a Windows virtual machine that behaves like an intelligent Chrome extension. It logs into the department’s systems through the front end just like a human officer would, clicks around and opens all the applications the agency uses, and then “screen reads” all the information using computer vision to continuously monitor, analyze, and act on the department’s data.
Pricing, Trials & Access
Do you offer free trials?
Yes. We offer a free 30-day trial. Officers can extend it by another 30 days by inviting two colleagues. Departments may qualify for a 60-day pilot by contacting sales@truleo.co .
What’s the difference between “Unlimited” and “Limited” Free Trials? And what happens when my Free Trial ends?
- Unlimited Free Trial: When you sign up for a free trial with TRULEO, you will have full unlimited access to TRULEO's platform for 30 days with no time limitations.
- Limited Free Trial: After your unlimited trial ends, if you do not extend your trial, you will automatically move to a limited version that allows 20 minutes of platform use per day.
How can I extend my free trial?
You can extend your Unlimited Free trial by another 30 days in two ways:
- Refer (2) new officers; they must be sworn law enforcement officers who have never used TRULEO before.
You may continue to refer 2 officers to continue extending your unlimited trial. - Introduce us to your supervisor; your Chief, Lieutenant, Captain, or direct supervisor. Once we confirm the introduction, your 30-day extension is activated.
I’m a U.S. Veteran – how can I sign up or extend my free access?
All officers can sign up at truleo.co for a free 30-day trial, extendable by another 30 days by inviting two colleagues. U.S. Veterans are FREE with any paid agency-wide deployment. Individual officers cannot purchase or be given TRULEO directly.
Can I buy a license for myself?
No. Officers who have completed a free trial should introduce their command staff to sales@truleo.co to establish an agreement.
There are no license minimums, but due to data security requirements, we must sign agreements directly with departments.
What is the pricing?
Pricing is available on our website here.
How long does implementation take, and how complex is it?
TRULEO is designed for instant integration with CAD, RMS, BWC, cell phone, or jail call systems. Department IT can typically install it within one day, avoiding vendor lock-in and API fees.
How does TRULEO connect to RMS, CAD, and other data sources?
TRULEO uses on-premise agentic AI with tiered permissions that mirror RMS/LERMS access levels. No sensitive data leaves agency premises, ensuring full data control.
Is TRULEO hosted on-premises, in the cloud, or both?
Both. TRULEO’s web app runs in a CJIS-compliant AWS GovCloud environment, while an on-premise AI agent accesses sensitive local data. All communication is outbound via secure TLS/SSL, and no VPN is required unless requested.
Does any data leave my agency’s systems, or is everything processed locally?
Your data stays within existing systems. TRULEO only streams data for analysis, never copies it, and processing of on-premise data happens locally through the agent.
Is TRULEO FBI CJIS-compliant, and how does it ensure security?
Yes. TRULEO is fully CJIS-compliant.
-
CJIS-compliant deployment in AWS GovCloud
-
Encryption in transit and at rest
-
Configurable temporary data retention
-
Automatic PII redaction
-
No video storage in TRULEO
How does TRULEO handle privacy and data ownership?
TRULEO never sells or shares agency data. Models are not trained on user data, and all AI operations follow strict CJIS and zero-retention agreements. Agencies retain complete ownership and control.
Does TRULEO store video content?
No. Videos remain in your EMS. TRULEO only streams data securely for analysis and never stores body-cam or RMS video files.
What safeguards exist against errors, hallucinations, or FOIA risks?
TRULEO sources all AI outputs with citations for verification, uses a BWC-trained transcription model for human-level accuracy, and keeps derived data minimal to reduce FOIA exposure.
Does TRULEO detect and avoid attorney/client privileged calls?
Yes- the system can automatically identify these conversations and won’t provide analysis.
